Cosplayer of the Week: Zerstoren

Cosplayer of the Week: Zerstoren Coming into 2017 I made a promise to myself that I would expand our reach to other awesome parts of the world in order to interview other dope cosplayers! One of those areas in particular was Russia! My jaw crashed to the floor at the mere sight of their cosplay community due to the amount of hard work and dedication they all seem to put into their costumes! Also a...

Marvel’s Latest Hero, America Chavez, Is Pretty Dope!

Marvel’s Latest Hero, America Chavez, Is Pretty Dope! With all that has been going on with the new presidency, it is safe to say that tensions are high. Various people around our great nation feel unease about the future despite being born and raised Americans and this is amplified for those who  are female or have immigrated. Although this is certainly a time to pay more attention to the wo...

Can Women Be Superheroes?

Can Women Be Superheroes? By Mary P. Since 1944, there have been 76 Marvel and DC related movies. By 2020, there will be 17 more. Out of all 93 of these movies, 4* feature a woman as the main character. We all know the failures of Elektra and Catwoman, both coming in at a whopping 10% and 9%, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes. Mansplainers everywhere use these epic flops as proof that female-led su...

Phoenix Comicon Does Right By Community A few weeks ago there was a major upset in the Arizona convention community when Phoenix Comicon made an announcement regarding a change in how they would handle volunteers. We covered the story as it developed and was even able to interview the Convention Director himself. The synopsis of the incident was that Phoenix Comicon planned to have a system where ...

Crunchyroll and the Anime Awards!(Interview)

Crunchyroll and the Anime Awards!(Interview) As you can probably guess, a majority of the staff for The Geek Lyfe are huge fans of Anime! We constantly fight about which anime series is the best or worst and if anyone dare tries to bring up the classic argument of Subbed vs Dubbed then just forget about being productive for the rest of the day. One of the major issues stateside for anime is that t...

Cosplayers of the Year 2016 There were so many fantastic cosplayers that we interviewed this year and last. Even making a list of only 13 cosplayers was difficult in itself! If you missed the nominees, check them out here! Deciding on whether or not to have our readers vote or have our staff vote on a winner was also a difficult choice. In the end we decided to do both! That way the people get a...

Here Is What We Know About The Nintendo Switch

Here Is What We Know About The Nintendo Switch I think it is safe to say that since the Wii had launched, Nintendo has been losing their place as one of the console gaming titans. While they still were creative and progressive, their plans for motion controls and a tablet based controller in the Wii and Wii U did not seem to appeal to users as much as they had thought. Meanwhile their competitors,...

This stopped me in my tracks because I was under the mis...
