Top Five Animes You Should Watch

I am an Otaku. If you do not know what that means, in short: I love Anime. The brilliant colors, the sound of the Japanese voice actors, special effects used and often serious/dark storylines that can take place. Like most Americans, cartoons were seen as something a child watches and will eventually grow out of, mainly due to the very shallow nature of older cartoons. Seasons meant nothing to Bugs Bunny or Tom and Jerry because their episodes rarely ever referenced one another and it was mainly episodic and meant for cheap laughs. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you were introduced to Toonami. For a few hours after dinner was hours of Anime on Cartoon Network(The best thing they have done and ever done and they should bring it back on their old schedule.) Tenchi Muyo, Dragon Ball Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing, Yuyu Hakusho, and so many others were unleashed onto us and told us stories far too deep and covered with mature themes that we had not ever seen before. We learned that honor, friendship, respect, and loyalty matter and should be held in high regard. When evil rolls into town, you do have the power to confront and overcome it, but you must first be willing to do what others are too afraid to do and yes, the road shall be hard and yes, you may walk it alone for a time but it is the right path and you shall know that you are just. Your actions shall ignite the flame of positive change. (Damn, I should write an article about why Anime is rad!) But I digress. If you are an Otaku like me or liked Anime but are not sure which ones to watch, have no fear for Geek Lyfe is here! *This list is in no particular order*

Hello everyone! As you all might have noticed...today is Valentine's Day. Being the forever alone type person I am, I have always found it hard to find romantic movies to watch on said holiday. In general my entire being rejects romance movies with the fire of a thousand white hot burning suns, but I always feel like participating in some way during the festivities. That's why I have compiled a short list of movies that Geeks like us can enjoy on this dreaded day of wuv love!

With Halloween right around the corner everyone is in the mood for some good ol horror, mischief and mayhem. Here is a list of five films you probably have not seen that'll sate your lust for all things weird. 1. The Horde

The Horde is a posse of crooked cops, malevolent gangsters and a horde of walking dead are the centre point of this gruesome, tight, action packed, claustrophobic tale of retribution and escape. Penned like animals, on the top floor of a deserted high-rise block, these two opposing gangs find that they are not alone in the lair of bloodthirsty corridors of death. Joining forces to survive, they must reach ground level together or perish. Loaded with a bad ass attitude, guns, axes and extremely creative hand-to-hand combat sequences that project the fears and paranoia that are the fighting forces behind the need to survive, when caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a fan of zombie flicks, this one is near the top of my list of all time favorites. The entire film is in french so you'll need to read subtitles but honestly, I think it just adds to the awesome. During the film they literally use cocaine to enhance their body to fight the undead. How could you not watch this film?

Tired of all the drama your guild produces, late raid times, rude guild mates who have friends in high places so they won't get kicked? Have you been playing around with the idea of branching off from your guild in favor of starting your own? I hear you. I've been there before as well and was completely overwhelmed by the result.  To quote a guild mate: "I run guilds like I sex women: really badly and when it's all over I apologize and cry a lil bit."-Unheilig
