EVENT: Halloween Hijinks 2022

Roll For Good is organizing a live-streamed TTRPG charity event on 22nd October to raise funds in aid of Mermaids, featuring three one-shot actual plays: Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade, and Camp Slaughter, an indie game. The event is accessible via twitch.tv/rollforgood, will include intermission (pre-recorded) shows and panels, live chats by MCs, and giveaways to celebrate donation goals.

Our latest event will raise funds in aid of Mermaids to further support gender-diverse youth and the fight for transgender rights. We’re currently soliciting prize contributions (such as physical or digital game copies, tabletop gaming swag, art, etc.) for our giveaways to help spur donations during the event. Any assistance to spread the word is also welcome, such as retweeting or engaging in the chat during the event on 22nd October. Hope to see everyone there for a day of great games, great community, giveaways and all while garnering donations for a great cause!

Who We Are & How We Work

Since 2021, RFG is a community primarily based within Europe and the United Kingdom that mobilizes the joy of tabletop roleplaying games to fundraise for charity. Our community, all the way to our organizing team, represents people who are international, queer, transgender, neurodivergent, POC, disabled and intersectional.

Our volunteer organizers bring expertise, energy, and enthusiasm while supporting team members, community members, guest game masters, and players, etc. Coordinators bring various elements together whereas Team Leads are responsible for more specific projects such as Graphics, Production, Moderation, Social Media, and Giveaways. A successful event for RFG relies on a foundation of well-moderated chat, original art, and animations, supported and well-prepared tables with completed Session Zeroes, Safety Tools, expectations for accessibility, a diverse and international cast, and more.

History

Our first event in May 2021 included six one-shot actual plays over two days to support Mind and its mission to provide advice and support to those experiencing mental problems. We later returned for Halloween with a one-day event including four one-shots. Over these two events, we raised over £5,500 for Mind. RFG spent its holiday break highlighting 25 Days of Charities on its social media channels to continue spreading attention to important causes, local and international.

In 2022, our two-day event in May was dedicated to World Central Kitchen and its mission to provide food to people affected by emergent crises, particularly communities in and bordering Ukraine. We hosted six one-shot actual plays and raised over £1,500.
