Unusual Online Games

There are plenty of great online games available to play now that cover every genre of game imaginable. While we each have a preference for the type of game that floats our boat, it’s sometimes fun to discover something a little distinct that we’re not really used to playing. These games might not be complex or keep your attention for a prolonged period of time, but they are unusual and entertaining.

Eyes Down

Those that visit online casinos would have noticed that the classic game of bingo has been rejuvenated and people now regularly visit a bingo betting site on their mobile or desktop. There are numerous reasons for bingo becoming popular again, but a large amount of credit needs to go to the casino game developers. They’ve made some shrewd moves with tie-ins such as Deal or No Deal bingo, but they’ve also gotten creative. With titles including Highland Reels, Rainbow Riches Bingo, Helter Skelter Bingo and Age of Gods Bingo, it appears the developers have been given free licence to mess around with this traditional game and see what sticks.

While the gameplay still embodies the classic game, the twist added by the developers can often be in the form of a multiplier or pre/post-game feature that makes things more interesting. Given how successful Slingo has become, a hybrid of bingo and slots, it’s not that surprising to see developers toy with bingo and try to devise a new hit.

Draw for Me

Google developed Quick, Draw!, an online game constructed with machine learning. Players are challenged to draw a picture of an idea or object within a time limit and as you draw, artificial intelligence will try to guess what it is you’re drawing. It makes a pleasant change to be working in collaboration with AI rather than against it, although there can be an element of frustration when your perfect illustration isn’t recognised.

The more you draw, the better the AI will get at identifying your sketches, boosting its mastery to guess correctly in the future. Google developed the game to act as an example of enjoyable ways to approach machine learning. If you need a break from drawing, you can always view some of the 50 million drawings that have been open-sourced to assist artists, developers and researchers to be creative or to find patterns in how people around the world draw different ideas or objects. Just look at all these monkeys!

Wander Around

Finally, a whimsical, quirky online game that you may enjoy trying out is Hole.io. There are lots of IO games that you might appreciate, but this is arguably the oddest. It’s a last-man-standing multiplayer game where you control a giant hole. You roam around the city consuming trees, pedestrians, cars, buildings and other players to grow as large as possible. There are seven different maps available, different skins to choose from and the best part is, if you enjoy this, there’s another game you’ll love.

The indie game Donut County is essentially a more advanced and demanding version of Hole.io. A physics puzzle game with a story, Donut County allows you to continue playing as a sinkhole, but everything is more polished and there are plenty of items to interact with that make the game more enthralling.

Three odd games that should keep you entertained for a while and certainly provide a break from the norm.
