4 Steps to Throwing an Awesome Kid’s Superhero Party

Superheroes have been popular ever since the birth of Superman back in 1938. Yet with the recent explosion of superhero films, some of which are grossing over $1 billion at the box office, this genre has arguably never been more beloved.

This is particularly the case with children. Whether it’s Captain America, Batman, Aquaman, or Wonder Woman, superheroes have never been cooler. To celebrate their acceptance into the mainstream, and to celebrate your child’s birthday in a memorable fashion, why not arrange a superhero-themed party?

Although, before you start sending out invitations, there are numerous aspects to take into consideration. Below are four steps to take when planning an awesome kid’s superhero party:

A Special Invitation

Before even planning the party, invitations need to be sent out to guests letting them know about the upcoming celebration. Thankfully, the superhero theme supplies a creative outlet since coming up with a memorable, eye-catching invitation is easy. For instance, you could go with a newspaper headline leaflet or one which says ‘calling all superheroes!’

As part of the invitation, you should also request that attendees dress up as their favorite superheroes. This helps to get everyone more immersed into the festivities.

The Right Decorations

Decorating the venue is an important aspect for any party, and that includes superhero-themed ones. Balloons, banquet tablecloths, banners — all of these can be personalized to fit your party. When doing this, take into account the color scheme that a particular superhero uses. If they have any distinguishing features — such as a mask or accessory — work these into the designs for added effect.

Fun for All

To create a successful kid’s party, activities and games are a necessity. While this can be achieved with various run-of-the-mill games, don’t be scared to add a superhero spin to activities.

If you want to go all out, however, consider the option of renting a bounce house. While this might not seem appropriate for a superhero theme, there are superhero themed bounce houses available. For instance, you could rent a Spiderman bounce house if you’re planning a themed party based around everyone’s favorite web slinger.

Super Food

No, this isn’t referring to healthy superfoods such as eggs, ginger and nuts. Instead it is food with a superhero twist.

The birthday cake will typically be seen as the easiest way to add a superhero flavor to the mix. Even if this isn’t made from scratch, supermarkets will often stock a variety of pre-made cakes adorned with superhero designs.

However, don’t let this be the stopping point. Cookies and cupcakes can be instantly transformed with a superhero logo or pattern. For a more creative example, you could even turn a humble strawberry into Spiderman’s mask with some black gel food coloring and two small dollops of vanilla frosting.

Before you put all of these steps into action, remember to avoid going overboard. The most successful party is one which has a clearly defined theme. If you throw every superhero into the pot, the theme may become muddled and less effective.
