5 Geek Lyfe Approved Underground Movies For Halloween
With Halloween right around the corner everyone is in the mood for some good ol horror, mischief and mayhem. Here is a list of five films you probably have not seen that'll sate your lust for all things weird.
1. The Horde
The Horde is a posse of crooked cops, malevolent gangsters and a horde of walking dead are the centre point of this gruesome, tight, action packed, claustrophobic tale of retribution and escape. Penned like animals, on the top floor of a deserted high-rise block, these two opposing gangs find that they are not alone in the lair of bloodthirsty corridors of death. Joining forces to survive, they must reach ground level together or perish. Loaded with a bad ass attitude, guns, axes and extremely creative hand-to-hand combat sequences that project the fears and paranoia that are the fighting forces behind the need to survive, when caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Written by Cinema_FanAs a fan of zombie flicks, this one is near the top of my list of all time favorites. The entire film is in french so you'll need to read subtitles but honestly, I think it just adds to the awesome. During the film they literally use cocaine to enhance their body to fight the undead. How could you not watch this film?

Review: The Secret World
First Impressions
Being the masochist that I clearly am, I absolutely love MMOs and H.P. Lovecraft stories. When a good friend of mine introduced me to The Secret World, a supernatural MMO by Funcom, I was intrigued by it. I found the game easily enough on Steam for only $29.99 and at times there are various sales where even that low price drops dramatically. There is no pay by month, it's a one time purchase and then you play all you want. Their expansions or 'Issues' come at a price but are intended for higher level players.
The Book of Life Movie Review *Plus Giveaway!*
Ah, The Book of Life… How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
If you can’t tell… I really enjoyed this movie. I knew I was going to like it, but I didn’t expect to absolutely ADORE it. Imagine a glorious hybrid between Tim Burton’s the Corpse Bride and William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and then set it in Mexico. THAT’S WHAT THE BOOK OF LIFE IS LIKE, ONLY BETTER THAN HOW I DESCRIBED IT. From Jorge Gutierrez, the mind that brought you the glory that was Nickelodeon’s El Tigre and Guillermo Del Toro the lord of all that is fantasy himself comes an animated spectacle unlike any other.
