Cosplayer of the Week: Lex The Stampede

You know your life needs a bit more awesome in it! That is why we are bringing you an interview with an amazing cosplayer named Lex The Stampede!

What is your cosplay origin story?

Cosplay was something that I’ve always wanted to do but I was afraid of the judgment. It took me years to get over it but now I’m so happy!

Out of all the years you have done cosplay, what has been one of your more favorite/proudest memories?

I finally created my first prop maybe 2 weeks ago! I built Vegeta’s saiyan armor 100% from scratch! I’m so proud of myself!

Many people online will simply see one of your images, appreciate it for the moment and move on. However, I know that a lot of care and time goes into photoshoots. Could you describe your process for a cosplay photoshoot from the concept to when it hits your fans?

Photoshoots are a lot of fun but sooo much work goes into each! It’s an all-day process! Between makeup, hair and wigs, going to the location, etc it can take hours for only a couple of photos! There’s even been times when we’ve spent all day shooting for the pictures to come out bad, so that’s a day of wasted time hahaha but I love every second of it!

Out of all the cosplays you have ever done which one was your personal favorite even if it was not super well received by fans?

My personal favorite has always been my Android 18 cosplay! I feel like, it never gets enough shine Hahaha maybe I’m doing something wrong

You feature a lot of awesome geeky content, what is your absolute favorite geeky medium? (Video games, anime, comics, film, etc.)
Video games for sure!!!! I love them all! Open world games are favorite and my favorite series of all time is Fallout!
Subbed or Dubbed Anime?
Oooo tough one but I’m gonna say dubbed (I know, don’t judge me)

It is apparent that you hustle to provide content for fans but when you actually have a day off, how do you spend it?

Sleeping and thinking about my next photo LOL

You just radiate such confidence and the swagger of a champion. However, a lot of geeks often struggle with overwhelming self-doubt, anxiety, and depression. When you have those bad days and get down on yourself, what do you do to remind yourself that you are wonderful?

Thank you!!! Hahaha I definitely have bad days and when I do, I always sit in a quiet place and say positive affirmations to myself. I remind myself why I hustle and why I go so hard every time!

What is one piece of advice you wish you received when you first got into modeling/cosplay?

Don’t compare yourself to others and invest in a great hot glue gun!
