The Geek Lyfe Raise Over $1000 for Charity via a D&D Live Event!

A lot of us here at The Geek Lyfe were feeling helpless over with the threat of COVID 19 taking the lives of so many and the overwhelming amount of Police Brutality happening all over the nation. Our hearts were so heavy with sorrow that we decided that we needed to do something, anything, to help!

That is why we put together our Dungeons & Dragons Charity Stream that was live on your Twitch channel and put a goal that over the course of 5 hours, we would raise $1000. Half of the funds would go to Unicef USA to assist with COVID 19 by supplying hospitals with much-needed supplies. The other half going to The Bail Project to assist those wrongfully imprisoned to get the aid they need for their release.

We got three of our homies: Utahime Cosplay, Dustin from The Final Boys, and Sam Sawyer to assist in being our main actors! We also reached out to Amberskies Cosplay, Alyssa the Coco, Cosplay and Beer, and Maya In the Moment to help be our guests!

Together, they embarked on an epic journey to slay the dreaded Minotaur King, Leandros, using an ancient artifact. Their characters were (Utahime)Miroki the Half-Orc Ranger, (Sam Sawyer)Arie the High Elf Princess Druid, (Dustin)Shelydon the Aarakocra Wizard, (Alyssa)Primus Iron Hide the Minotaur Paladin, (AmberSkies Cosplay)Lenoire the Half-Elf Cleric of All Might, (Maya in the Moment)Star Raz the Dragonborn Paladin, and (Cosplay and Beer)Rema the Tiefling Druid.

They were offered a +1 to all rolls if they made any attempt to dress up as their characters and everyone did! In the end, we raised a total of $1116 aka $558 for each cause! We also featured giveaways during the event including dice, a GL T Shirt, a Hero Forge Gift Card, and also a Ripper Blade worth $190!

We also love that there are so many like minded content creators who want to better their community in any way possible! Especially when the method involves goofy moments with dear friends!

Thank you again to everyone for watching and donating! We love you all and are excited to see you again for our next event!
