Alternatives to Bloodborne
Alternatives to Bloodborne
So Bloodborne came out. Critics are going insane over it, Let's Players are covering it, Speed Runners are setting world records and oh yeah, it is a PS4 exclusive with no chance of coming to PC in the near future. It is one big heart break for fellow Dark Souls lovers. The short version is that Sony financed the development of Bloodborne on the conditions of an exclusive title, much like their first game: Demon's Souls. There is little we can do besides start petitions and cry our selves to sleep at night when it comes to getting this fantastic game onto PC. However, there are things we can do to get the same feel of a dark and gritty world without buying a PS4...Being A Minority In The Geek World
Being A Minority In The Geek World
This is a touchy subject, there is no doubt in my mind about that. But it is one that needs to be addressed. Being a minority in the geek world can be rough and a bit discouraging. Ever since I can remember, I have been a geek. I loved Power Rangers, Super hero movies, Star Wars, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Gi Oh, WWF, video games, and so many more things. I believe one of my greatest loves were Superman comics. Unfortunately, I learned quickly that I was not the same as to fellow geeks. On the play ground at elementary schools, children have almost no filter because they simply have not learned about being 'politically correct', which actually is not an issue because they often speak the truth. One spring day, friends and I gathered together to play Super Heroes Vs Zombies where we would all pretend to be super heroes and then fight imaginary zombies. I always chose either Superman or Green Lantern and my friends at the time, who were predominantly white, would respond: "You can't be him! You are too dark. Superman doesn't eat tacos or is a janitor." They forced me to pick a darker character or default to being a zombie. As a kid, who did not have enough money to afford comics, my knowledge of minority super heroes was severely limited to the mainstream. Most often I would play the bad guy and die all the time or be put into jail by my friends. All because of the color of my skin."Loot Crate Unveiling – April Edition

Are games worth breaking friendships for?
Are games worth breaking friendships for?
To begin, I want to warn you that this is both a personal post as well as an opinion article. An overview of this article is going over an example of a situation where a very long and very strong friendship was broken to pieces by a well known video game. We'll then get down to the nitty gritty and also the deeper questions about morals, loyalty, and other questions of intentions. If you have any stories of your own where your friendship was broken over a video game, table top RPG, etc,I'd love to hear them over in the comments!

Bro Nights have been a long standing tradition among friends. It's a night you look forward to all week, the night you get to just sit back and have fun. It's the bond between you and your bros that makes it so special, and Bro Nights only highlight and strengthen that bond. There are many games you can play during Bro Night, but there is one game that stands out: Double Dragon Neon.Netflix Does It Again: Daredevil Review
Netflix does it again: Daredevil Review
It has been quite sometime since we last saw Daredevil in live action goodness. We haven't see the defender of Hell's Kitchen since February 14, 2003 with good ol Ben Affleck taking on the role. It seemed to be another Batman and Robin situation where at the wee age of 13, both films were super rad because we had little else to compare them to. Then as we got older Avengers, Dark knight, Spider Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and even Man of Steel came out and we saw what great superhero films actually look like. Needless to say, Daredevil crashed and burned in the ranking of best comic book films.
Once the CW jumped on board with the metahuman frenzy, Arrow, Gotham, Flash arrived and were incredible. It's safe to say that both are at the level of entertainment of Smallville: Fun, light hearted, action packed, good guys always win, and tons of references to other heroes in the DC universe. Marvel arrived with Agents of Shield and Agent Carter, both were good as well(I'm much more of a DC fan, so there may be some bias).
Imagine the geek world's surprise when Netflix announced that they were going to be filming a Daredevil series. Everyone and their mother were shocked and awed. Netflix is known for House of Cards, Orange is the new Black, Hemlock Grove, Marco Polo and so many more spectacular shows. But could they handle doing a super hero show? A lot of their originals deal mainly with real life scenarios, realistic people who have down to earth issues like betraying people to rise in power, survive prison after living a very privileged life, become the adviser for a great and powerful Khan, find evil and defeat it using werewolf powers...oh...well never mind, it seems they are amazing at doing fantastic stories. Yes! I believe that Netflix does have what it takes to make this show great!
