Review: The Secret World
First Impressions
Being the masochist that I clearly am, I absolutely love MMOs and H.P. Lovecraft stories. When a good friend of mine introduced me to The Secret World, a supernatural MMO by Funcom, I was intrigued by it. I found the game easily enough on Steam for only $29.99 and at times there are various sales where even that low price drops dramatically. There is no pay by month, it's a one time purchase and then you play all you want. Their expansions or 'Issues' come at a price but are intended for higher level players.
The Book of Life Movie Review *Plus Giveaway!*
Ah, The Book of Life… How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
If you can’t tell… I really enjoyed this movie. I knew I was going to like it, but I didn’t expect to absolutely ADORE it. Imagine a glorious hybrid between Tim Burton’s the Corpse Bride and William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and then set it in Mexico. THAT’S WHAT THE BOOK OF LIFE IS LIKE, ONLY BETTER THAN HOW I DESCRIBED IT. From Jorge Gutierrez, the mind that brought you the glory that was Nickelodeon’s El Tigre and Guillermo Del Toro the lord of all that is fantasy himself comes an animated spectacle unlike any other.

Movie Review: Gone Girl (Or why I now trust the Batfleck)
Alright guys… As you know I always strive to do 100% spoiler free reviews and Gone Girl will be no exception. As many of you know Gone Girl is the film adaption of Gillian Flynn’s 2012 novel of the same name. If you’ve read Gone Girl I know that while you wished for a film adaption you wondered at the same time “Well how on earth could they do it right?”. DAVID FINCHER THAT’S HOW. To me, David Fincher is the king of novel adaptions. He’s more than successfully adapted Fight Club (One of my favorite movies of all time), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Which I enjoyed more than the original surprisingly) and The Accidental Billionaires (The Social Network) into cinematic works of art. This year Fincher tackled what many thought to be the un-tacklable, Gone Girl.
So here is my summary of the movie:
Review: Banner Saga
First Impression
Like many of my fellow Steam users, when a steam sale occurs, we whip out our wallets and spend what little money we have in our bank accounts. As for the types of games I do choose to buy, I attempt to purchase interesting games with unique art styles. Which brings me to The Banner Saga.
The game looked incredible. From the sample images provided by steam, it looked to be a turn based, grid combat system. Being a lover of Final Fantasy Tactics, I was sold.
Not only was the art work great, the combat system something I enjoyed but looking closer I could see some manner of horned creature as well as some sort of armored foes. Needless to say I was intrigued by all of this and had to wonder what the story line could be.
