Cosplayer of the Week: Vivid Vision

We have a wonderful cosplayer by the name of Vivid Vision! She hails from the frozen North of Canada and was highly recommended to us by our homie, Geegiiee!

We are so grateful to interview her! Lets jump right in!

The Geek Lyfe: Although I have been a fan of yours for quite some time, there may be a few Geek Lyfers who have not seen your work before, would you be alright introducing yourself?

Vivid Vision: I am Vivid Vision, a Canadian based cosplayer who loves to make costumes of anime and video game characters.

TGL: How long have you been into creating incredible content/cosplays and what led you down this path?

VV: I have been making cosplays for over 15 years. Originally when I immigrated from Hong Kong to Canada, I was introduced to the holiday Halloween. As I grew up with Anime and Video game, I wore anime related costumes for Halloween.

TGL: What has been your favorite moment?

VV: Doing that last stretch in the costume making process and being able to put the costume on to bring it to life.

TGL: Most frustrating?

VV: Trying to figure out how to make a costume piece work in real life when it defies gravity lol

TGL: When you aren’t doing this, what do you do in your spare time?

VV: Eating…. and eating some more lol!! I LOVE FOOD!!

TGL: You can choose one fictional character from any universe to come to our world and be your best friend for life. Who is it and why?

VV: Souma from Food Wars so he can cook me delicious foods lol!

TGL: How long does the process take from concept to creation?

VV: It depends on how complex the costume it. Choosing what I want to make, getting materials, and then making it. Can take anywhere from 10 hours to 50 hours.

TGL: When you encounter a creative block, how do you deal with it?

VV: Watch more anime!

TGL: What advice do you have for any aspiring content creators out there that goes beyond the normal advice of don’t give up?

VV: Start doing a costume of a character that you like! And if you can, cosplay with friends! Its always more fun when you do it together with a group!

TGL: Where can we find you online? If you could, please send us 5 photos of your cosplay and have at least one of them be a horizontal image that we could use for the cover photo! Thank you again so much for everything!

Darth Mexican has been a geek since he first saw a lightsaber ignite. He has strong feelings on subbed anime. He strives to represent the stories of the common man and woman regardless of skin tone, age, sexual preference, or nationality. With every article he strives to bring representation to the voiceless. Unless he finds out they like dubbed anime.
